The National Monuments Service's description

Liscallee/Lios Caillí (?): This rath, marked as a bivallate enclosure on the OS maps, was levelled in the early 1980s during land reclamation operations. Cooke recorded that it had a 'double rampart and deep ditch' and that there was a 'choked entrance to a souterrain (KE065-055001-) in its interior (1906, 5). It was located on a small hill overlooking the Gaddagh river to W.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 655. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
