The National Monuments Service's description
The OS maps depict an enclosure with an encircling fosse at this location, situated at the junction of three field boundaries in an area of elevated ground. The site was levelled as a result of ploughing at the turn of the century (local information).
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 778. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
