The National Monuments Service's description

In improved pasture, situated toward base of S-facing slope of small pasture field. Single upright stone of green sandstone/shale (H 1m; Wth 0.5m; L 0.75m max.) is orientated long-axis ENE-WSW. Stone is cut slightly into hillslope. Sub-rectangular in plan with generally flat faced sides which are partially covered in white lichens and moss. Top of stone is relatively flat point that slopes down gently to SW. Sappers mark upon upper surface is obscured by moss and is depicted upon later OS six inch maps. Visible upon aerial image (Bing 2015). Roadside field boundary (long axis E-W) and gate are c. 10m to S.
