The National Monuments Service's description
Associated with a tower house (KE057-076001-). In the 1940s it was recorded that the remains of 'a trench or moat surrounding [the] castle' survived here (Schools Manuscript, Co. Kerry). According to local traditon the tower house was built on 'a big earthen fort' of which there is no longer any trace (ibid.). This earthwork is not visible at ground level.
