The National Monuments Service's description
Six ogham stones, reused as roof lintels, were found in a souterrain (KE057-023001-) in a rath (KE057-023----) in this townland (Barry 1891, 516). Macalister (1945, 239) noted that four of the stones were taken from the souterrain and used in the building of a cottage in the village of Laharan. Subsequently three of the four stones were removed to Lord Dunraven's mansion at Adare (ibid.) where they still are (see LI021-034003-, LI021-034004-, LI021-034005-). The fourth was left behind, and 'is now lost to sight'. (ibid., 240). Macalister (1945, 241) noted that the Rev. E. Barry stated that six ogham stones were found in the souterrain and while he gave details of five of them he mentioned nothing about the sixth. Its present location is not known.
