The National Monuments Service's description

Not marked on the OS maps, this rectangular area is located in the SW corner of a cultivated field and is known locally as a burial ground. Measuring 21m N-S x 23m E-W, its N and E sides are defined by bushes and the surface of its interior is uneven and overgrown. The site overlooks the Laune river estuary and Castlemaine Harbour to N.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 1012. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
