Internal diam. 32m N-S, 30m E-W
Rathanore: A roughly oval univallate rath situated in the W corner of a pasture field that slopes downhill to SE. The W half of the enclosing bank forms part of the modern field boundary system and has been faced with drystone masonry. The remainder of the bank is entirely earthen and measures up to 1.5m in external height and no more than .5m in internal height. The interior is occupied by a series of cultivation ridges.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 511. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
