The National Monuments Service's description

Dense vegetation and waterlogging prevent a detailed examination of this unusual circular enclosure located on the summit of the W end of an E-W ridge overlooking the Lispole valley to N. It consists of a circular raised platform, surrounded by a shallow fosse and an external bank, with traces of an external fosse in the SW sector. A drain has been excavated around the outside of the bank in the NW sector and the bank in this sector appears to have been maintained as a field boundary. The fosse is 2 to 3m wide and the central platform is 34m in diameter. Roughly centrally placed on the platform, which is strewn with much stone, is a circular depression enclosed by a low stone and earth bank, the overall feature measuring c. 11m in diameter.

The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 1549. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
