The National Monuments Service's description
Six sherds of Beaker pottery, which were presented to the Cork Public Museum (Catalogue no. G. 104A), were accompanied by a short note as follows: These bones were found washed up by the sea from a 'Cromleac' there were also arrowheads and some pieces found on the sea-shore near Dingle, Co. Kerry in the year 1872 by Ralph Westropp.
It is assumed that the 'pieces' referred to are the pottery sherds. The note is unclear as to whether the cromlech and bones were from the same location as the arrowheads and pieces, that is near Dingle. None of the megalithic tombs recorded on the Dingle Peninsula are located on or near the sea-shore though it is possible that such a structure has since been destroyed.
