The National Monuments Service's description

Circular univallate enclosure KE053-037---- marked on the 2nd edition of the OS map is now only faintly discernible.

A souterrain was discovered when the site was being levelled about 7 or 8 years ago (local information). It consisted of a passage and at least 2 chambers. The passage was constructed of upright slabs and roofed by a series of flat lintels. The chambers resembled 'underground beehive huts' and each was roofed by a single flat slab. One of the entrances was formed by a porthole slab.

The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 669. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
