The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diam. 29m.
A roughly circular bivallate rath situated on the level marshy land that surrounds Trabeg. The outer fosse is 1.5m deep below the external ground level and 2.5m wide. The outer bank rises c. 2m above the outer fosse and 1m above the inner fosse. The latter is 5m wide. The inner bank rises c. 2m above the fosse and .75m above the interior, and its inner face has been seriously disturbed by rabbit burrows and badger setts. A 3rd outer bank, skirting the S part of the enclosure, is probably a later field fence. The entrance faces SE. In the interior, near the entrance, is what appears to be a well.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 304. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
