The National Monuments Service's description
Possible promontory fort described in 2002 as follows; ‘A 5m wide 80cms high earthen bank and hint of an outer fosse runs across Parkmore Point at a distance of 330m west of the extremity of the point. A more recent earthen bank hints at a second inner bank running parallel to the first at a distance of 7m. This does not travel across the entire headland and remains of old cultivation ridges interfere with the earthworks across the headland. At a distance of 400m west of the earthworks are the remains of a second series of earthen banks crossing the headland and the remains of a third can be seen a further 90m west, making the whole townland an enormous fortified headland. The size of the remains suggests that these were more than the remains of field boundaries but not enough remains to be certain. The area is one of fertile undulating pasture forming the western section of the entrance to Ventry Harbour’ (Casey 2002, 54-5, no. U and V ).
