The National Monuments Service's description
Clochán Amhlaoibh: On a steep W facing slope overlooking Coumeenoole bay. An oval corbelled drystone hut, with 2 small lintelled chambers, probably secondary, built into the W part of the wall. D: 3.5 x 2.4m. H: 1.15m. T: 1.8 to 2.2m. Abutting its SE side is a poorly-preserved satellite chamber, with an independent entrance. Several large upright slabs to W of this may mark the site of another hut, and, according to Macalister (1899, 274), another subcircular structure, c. 1m in diameter, abutted the E side of the 1st satellite chamber.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 1220. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
