The National Monuments Service's description

A large earthfast boulder at the edge of a laneway leading uphill towards Mount Eagle. Across the flat top is a line of 6 small cup-marks, the largest measuring .05m in diameter. Beneath these, on the sloping W face of the rock, is a lightly incised Latin cross enclosed within a lozenge-shaped frame which rises from a stepped base.

In improved rough pasture (54m OD), in a depression in SE corner of field, on a gentle E-facing slope. Incorporated into drystone field wall at S end, defining laneway (long-axis E-W) to S. Limited views of landscape in all directions. Substantial, smooth and unfractured sandstone boulder (dims. 5.60m N-S; 2.80m E-W; max. H 1.05m) with an irregular decorated surface (dims. 1.10m N-S; 0.35m E-W). The motifs are in a reasonably good condition and consist of a linear formation of six cupmarks (diam. 5.5-7cm; D 4-14mm) across a flat surface, at S end of stone. An isolated, possible cupmark is c. 86cm to N. A Latin cross enclosed in a diamond shape, having a stepped base is located on a gently curving W-facing aspect, 18cm to SE. Most of upper surface of stone is obscured by field clearance stones, sod and grass.
