The National Monuments Service's description

This souterrain consists of a single chamber measuring 3.8m NW-SE, 1.55m NE-SW and c. 1.25m in height. The walls are constructed of upright slabs, c. 0.6m high, overlain by drystone walling, but the upright slabs in the NW part of the structure are concealed by fill that has intruded through the entrance. The NW end wall is typically curved. The chamber is roofed by 4 slabs, one of which overlies a gap between 2 others and is visible on the surface. Access to the souterrain is by means of an entrance in the NW wall which opens onto the S side of a partly drystone-lined well. The entrance is spanned by a sill stone, .6m high, and the opening above this is .85m wide and c. 0.45m high. The well measures 1.2 x .5m x 1.1m in depth.

The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 740. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
