The National Monuments Service's description
This potential feature was reported by Michael Connolly, County Archaeologist, Kerry County Council. It was identified by him during the course of an assessment of a 40 square mile area for the purpose of choosing a road route in 2000 to the north of Killarney. Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as the low remains of a square enclosure. Access not gained. Young, dense forestry not yet thinned planted within last 10 years across area of potential monument. The area of this monument has been planted within the last 10 years, as per aerial photography (OSi 2005 and 2010). This forestry is young and the trees are densely packed together, having not yet had their first thinning. Trackway (long-axis NE-SW) extends through centre of plantation, however this has become overgrown with briars and access was only possible to within 120m of monument.
