The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on a steep NNW-facing slope. A circular area (30.6m N-S; 29m E-W) defined by an overgrown earth and stone bank (int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.5m). The fosse (D 0.5m) is overgrown but well-defined E-W and traceable W-E. Gaps occur in the bank at N (Wth c. 0.6m) and NW (Wth c. 2m). A ledge (Wth 1.8m) that occurs outside the gap at NW may be slumped material from the bank. There are a number of eroded gaps through the bank. The overgrown interior, which slopes down to the NNW, is crossed by the remains of N-S cultivation ridges. This is probably one of three raths in Boolacullane mentioned in the 1840s as 'Lissnacrath, Lissoughter, and the other not known by any particular name' (OSNB, Molahiffe, no. 1, 20).
