The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a level shoulder on a gentle slope within Killacloghane Wood, the remains consist of a group of prostrate slabs within an apparently hollowed-out area. A large roofstone-like slab (3.10m by 2.40m; 0.50m think) aligned N–S is partly overlapped by a smaller second slab at the N (1.85m E–W) which appears to have been broken off. Beneath the larger slab on its W side are two partly-overlapping slabs which may be interpreted as fallen portal stones. The S slab measures at least 1.10m wide, is over 0.45m thick and, if erect, would have been c. 2.15m. The N slab rests on and partly overlaps the W side of the previous slab: it measures 1.05m wide, 0.25m thick and, if erect, would have been over 1.70m. While the remains cannot be classified with any degree of certainty, comparison with the nearby portal tomb in the same townland c. 1km to the WSW (KE047-052----) would suggest that interpretation as a possible portal tomb would not be inconsistent with the evidence; this, however, is purely tentative and a full elucidation of the monument must await further investigation.
