The National Monuments Service's description
Sub-circular bivallate rath KE045-051---- is located on fairly level pastureland about 200m N of a small E-W flowing tributary of the Owenascaul river.
There is a local tradition of a souterrain at the site.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 519. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
