The National Monuments Service's description
The souterrain came to light accidentally when the ground collapsed during agricultural activity. It is located in a pasture field, immediately east of a north-south field boundary. The collapse revealed part of a dry-stone walled chamber (c. 1.3m x c. 1.05m) whose exact shape is unclear due to collapse but may be part of the original entrance. On the north side of this is a short creephole (Wth 0.5m; L 0.65m; H 0.45m). This short passage is covered by a single lintel stone, and its west side is also formed by a single stone set on edge. The other side is formed of dry-stone walling. This creep-way leads to a single roughly rectangular chamber (L c. 2.85m SE-NW; Wth c. 1m SW-NE). The walls of this chamber are formed of near-vertical drystone walling (H c. 1.35m) and are covered by four end-to-end lintel stones. The floor of the chamber is covered by fine clay silt indicating it is flooded on occasions, though dry when surveyed.
