The National Monuments Service's description

A horseshoe-shaped mound situated in rough, marshy pastureland on the E bank of a small river. Its overall dimensions are 15m N-S x 13.5m E-W and, apart from a narrow gap at S, it completely encloses a sub-circular area measuring 4.5m x 5.2m. The mound rises .6m above this central area and is composed of small burnt and fire-shattered stones. A further 3 fulachta fiadh have been recorded 250m S on the bank of the same river.

The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 242. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
