The National Monuments Service's description
A fragment of an ogham stone was found in the bed of a stream which runs past the parochial school of Dingle (Macalister 1945, 171-2). It was later removed to St. James Church but is now missing. Macalister recorded the following inscription:
.....ETORIGAS
He suggested AVITORIGAS as a possible restoration.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 803. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
