The National Monuments Service's description
The circular enclosure marked on the OS maps has been destroyed. It was about 1 chain (20m) in diameter (OSNB Garfinny, 36) and the site is now marked by a roughly circular area, 16 to 18m in diameter, of rough ground with a thick growth of reeds. It was situated at the foot of the S slopes of Knockmoylemore overlooking the low-lying land that surrounds Trabeg.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 636. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
