The National Monuments Service's description

Internal diam. 26.7m
Lisnapreaghaun/Lios na bPréachán: A circular univallate rath situated about 400m W of KE043-131----, on the S slopes of Knockavrogeen. It is enclosed by an earthen bank and a shallow external fosse. The fosse averages 3m in width and its outer edge is surmounted by a field fence along the N sector. The bank reaches a maximum height of 3.15m at S. The entrance gap at SE is 1.85m wide. Three stones on the inner side of the entrance may be the remains of a pathway, and a couple of stones in the outer face of the bank, directly S of the entrance, may be the remains of a drystone revetment. There are a few ill-defined features in the interior but no definite traces of hut-sites.

The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 490. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
