The National Monuments Service's description
The Early Christian and Medieval ecclesiastical complex at Kilmalkedar (KE042-026----) lies at the foot of the W slopes of Reenconnell hill, overlooking Smerwick Harbour. The Reenconnell ridge peaks at 907 feet/276m to NE of the site and the area around Kilmalkedar is sheltered on its N and S sides by spurs of this hill.
(20) Two holed stones [see also [KE042-026020-] which formerly stood within the church were described by O'Sullivan (1931, 446) as .45m and .6m in height. An OPW photograph shows 2 such stones leaning against the base of the alphabet stone but both are now missing. They may have come from above the doorway of the destroyed oratory (B on map) [KE042-026005-].
