The National Monuments Service's description
'Located on a south facing boggy, mountainside, which has splendid views southwards, especially towards the two mountain top cairns on Knockawaddra, in an area which has undergone turf cutting, is a long oval-shaped mound. It is aligned NNE/SSW and is 23.0m in total length. It is 13.0m in width and has a maximum height of 2.00m at centre. This mound is slightly lower at both ends, giving the overall appearance of an upturned boat. Probing with a ranging rod did not reveal the presence of stone in the first few centimeters of sod cover. However, the remains of a turf banks in the immediate vicinity show the depth of turf in this area to be, at most 0.50m, before the original scree slope of the mountain is encountered. Therefore this mound is an anomaly, and it is now covered in a growth of grass and heather. It seems to be aligned directly between the two mountain top cairns to the south west.'
