The National Monuments Service's description

This midden is referred to in the Minute Book of Co. Kerry Field Club, Vol. 1 (dated 03 May 1939), p. 698. According to this reference, 'Commander O'Connell gave an account of his visit to map these stones [some holed stones] but stated that as yet he could only guess their purpose. He gave an account of a site near Annagh Graveyard [KE038-003002-] in the midst of the locality where these stones are to be found which is difficult to define. He also reported the discovery of a midden site on this inspection.' On the instructions of Paul Walsh (2 June 2006), this is to be classified as 'midden, possible' but, as there is no indication of its precise location, it is to remain unlocated.
