The National Monuments Service's description

An oval area, 22m NNW-SSE and c. 11.9m E-W, raised a maximum of .6m above the surrounding field. There are traces of a stony bank along the perimeter at NNE, and a single stone set inside this may be the remains of a wall face. The condition of the site has not changed within living memory but it is known locally as a fort.

The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 646. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
