The National Monuments Service's description

Situated near the base of a steep E facing slope near the entrance to a N-S valley with extensive views N to Tralee Bay. The land use is rough grazing for sheep with exposed rock outcrops, thin peat cover and heather. Present remains consists of a group of three related sites. First there is a rectangular cabin (int. dims. 4.3m x 2.6m; wall H 1.2m; T 0.75m), orientated E-W and partially dug into the hill at its W end. Ground plan divided in half by a wall 2m from W end. There is a small niche in the NW corner and a narrow entrance (Wth 0.5m) in the NE corner. The entrance to the cabin leads out to the partially denuded remains of a hut site (diam. 3m). This second site is most likely to be an earlier hut site but it could be a contemporary small enclosure built onto the cabin. The third site is 4m down slope to the E and is a rectangular feature measuring 4.5m N-S by 2m E-W. It is very degraded and has an uneven, stony interior which might suggest it was built as a turf–drying area or for storing other material off the damp ground.
