The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diam. 20.6m N-S, c. 19m E-W
This is the northernmost of 4 closely-grouped raths situated on the E side of Corrin Hill. It lies on a SE facing slope about 75m N of KE036-075----. The roughly circular interior, containing traces of a hut and possible souterrain, slopes downhill to SE and is enclosed by an earthen bank and external fosse. The bank varies in internal height from .1 to .15m on the downslope side to 2m on the upslope side. The 2.6m wide entrance gap at ENE is defined on its S side by a large stone set on edge. The fosse varies in width from 2.7 to 3.5m and is from .4 to c. 0.8m deep below the external ground level; it is not present along the SE sector.
There is a tradition of a souterrain on the site and a depression a little E of centre may mark its location. A roughly D-shaped hut, built against the bank at ESE, measures 4m x 4.6m internally. Its wall is now reduced for the most part to a band of collapse but portion of the inner wall face at WSW is preserved to a height of .5m. The entrance at NW is defined by 2 stones set standing on edge .55m apart.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 369. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
