The National Monuments Service's description
The available information regarding the precise location and classification of this site is confused. On the 1st edition of the OS map it was shown as a line of 2 standing stones and a small rectangular building and it was named 'Cloghauns'. On the 2nd edition, a circular structure, named 'Cloghauns' was marked about 20-30m SE of the position on the 1st edition. There is now no trace of either clochaun or standing stones at the site which lies in rough wet pastureland on the SE slopes of the Owenmore valley.
