The National Monuments Service's description
Exposed in section at the base of the steep N slopes of Drom Hill, on the S side of Brandon Bay, is a small shell midden, 2m long and .4m thick. It is composed of cockle shells, charcoal and a few small burnt stones.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 8. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
