The National Monuments Service's description
A small fort and souterrain (KE035-006001-) were recorded in a corner of a field, at the rear of a house on the N side of the road leading to Cloonsharragh from Cappagh (CKFC 1953). It was described as 'a small fort long since dug out but in the interior of the ring is the remains of a souterrain much damaged and broken down in several places'. The precise location has not been identified.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 655. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
