The National Monuments Service's description

'These walls can be traced intermittently over an area of approximately 2 square kilometres. These walls vary in construction and size, using a mixture of mound wall construction and also a series of upright slabs. The walls appear to form small fields on the western side of the Saint's Road, but enclose larger areas on the east. Where the peat has been cut traces of a wall, which runs approximately in a north-south direction for at least 1 kilometre can be traced. It appears to run broadly parallel with the Saint's Road. Further walls visible on the lower southern grassy slopes of Brandon'

The above description was published in F. Coyne, 'Islands in the clouds: an upland archaeological study on Mount Brandon and the Paps, Co. Kerry.' (Kerry Co. Council in association with Aegis Archaeology, 2006).
