On the 1st edition of the OS map a circular enclosure is marked here on the W side of the Owenmore valley, on the sloping hillside below Lough Cruttia. The present remains are those of a later walled enclosure, oval or sub-triangular in shape as shown on the 2nd edition. Though the present wall is relatively modern it does appear to follow the line of an earlier circular enclosure, except to S and SE. In this latter sector a curving scarp, outside the wall, completes the circular outline. It is not clear whether any part of the earlier structure is incorporated into the present remains. An entrance gap to NE is probably late but there is a suggestion of an entrance to N which may relate to the earlier enclosure. The site is titled 'fort' on the Fair Plan.
