The National Monuments Service's description
The 'Gallaun' marked on the OS maps and described as standing '6 feet (1.8m) high' (OSNB Kilquane, 31) now lies prostrate in the flat, boggy plain drained by the Feohanagh river. It is c. 2m long, .65m wide and .45m thick.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 120. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
