The National Monuments Service's description

A rubbing of an inscribed stone, found many feet below the surface of a peat bog in Moorestown, was examined by Dr. O'Donovan who read the beginning of the inscription as MAC CU DRACA (Macalister 1949). The present whereabouts of both the rubbing and the stone are not known.

The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 871. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
