The National Monuments Service's description
There appear to be a small number of shells high up in the cliff-face, on the E side of Smerwick Harbour. However, access to the site is impossible and it could not be examined closely. (information: A. McCarthy)
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 14. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
