The National Monuments Service's description
'This complex is situated on top of a limestone reef which affords extensive views to the north, east, south and west, the Paps mountains being visible to the east. The field in which this site is located is slightly marshy, and is predominantly devoted to grazing and rough pasture. The large bi-vallate ringfort of Rathanny [KE030-032----] is located c.150m to the north, but is now almost completely levelled as a result of field clearance.........situated slightly to the northern side of the interior of this enclosure [KE030-120001-] is a rectilinear depression. Its northern limit is marked by a line of exposed rock, 6.00m in length and 0.40m in height. The central sub-rectangular depression measures 6.00m E-W by 7.00m N-S and has a maximum depth of 0.60m. It is enclosed on its western and southern sides by a low bank, now grass-covered but apparently stone-filled. This has an average width of 3.00m, and an average external height of 0.35m. This enclosure is open to the east.'
