The National Monuments Service's description
Only a fragment of the SW angle of the S gable wall (L 4.6m x H 0.4-0.2m; Wall T 0.8m) of a possible 17th century watermill standing on the S side of the River Lee survives intact. The S wall of the watermill appears to have recently collapsed, and has fallen intact into the bed of the river which is still visible. This water mill stands in Ballyseedy Wood to the N of the 17th century Ballyseedy House (KE029-183----) and was probably the 17th century watermill belonging to the manor of Ballyseedy. The S wall of the watermill supported a two storey high gable with window in apex of gable with corner pilasters (Wth 0.7m x D 1.25m; H 3.1m) protruding from the corner of the S gable on SE and SW angles in a similar fashion to church antae.
A reconstruction drawing of the watermill beside Ballyseedy house described this S gable of the watermill as the; 'end gable with one window opening. This structure appears to be a two storey, thatched water mill of late 17th to early 18th century date. A surviving millrace exists to the south of the structure'.
