The National Monuments Service's description
Listed by Waddell (1970, 17) as a 'three-chambered souterrain reportedly found c. 1900' in the townland of Clogherbrien. Souterrain precisely located by Ann O'Reilly who identified the souterrain which was later blocked up by land improvement works carried out in the field (SMR File). In pasture, in area of rock outcrop which had been quarried as depicted on the 1841 ed. OS 6-inch map. The opening to the souterrain faces E and is located at one of the highest points in the field. It had been blocked up with loose stones. The base of the souterrain slopes down from the entrance for c. 2.5m at a 45 degree angle. The sides are drystone walling, the top being corbelled with large stones and drystone wall also. There is a lintelled ope to the next section of the souterrrain which turns to the left. There is a second lintelled ope off to the right which may indicate another section to the souterrain.
