The National Monuments Service's description

The precise location of a possible castle in the townland of Cloonmore recorded in folklore collected from 'The Spa' School in Tralee has not been identified. Folklore collected in 1938 from 'The Spa' recorded that 'In 1587, Queen Elizabeth gave the following lands to Sir Francis Walshingham, and Edward Denny. The Castle and lands called Clounnmore [Cloonmore], late John McAndrew's with a garden' (The Schools’ Collection, Volume 0438, Page 317; https://www.duchas.ie/en/cbes/4706322/4702429/4724593).
