The National Monuments Service's description
The precise location of a possible leper hospital in the townland of Cloonalour (Cluain na Lobhar / pasture of the lepers) has not been identified. According to Lee (1966, 21) the townland name Cloonalour may indicate the former existence of a 'Lazar House' in the area.
