The National Monuments Service's description
Tobar Rí an Domhnaigh / Well of the King of Sunday located in the townland of Ballymakegoge (Baile Mhic Iagóg), parish of Ballynahaglish, barony of Trughanacmy. Holy well annotated 'Toberreendoney' (Well of the King of Sunday) on 1841 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Described by Ó Danachair (1958, 162) as; 'This well disappeared in the making of the Tralee-Fenit railway line. The spring still breaks out beside the railway embankment. The water cured headaches'. Site visited on 1998 and described as a levelled site in rough pasture on S side of the embankment of the disused Fenit railway line. The well is known locally as "Sunday's Well" and had the cure for headache. It was originally under the railway line. Railway built mass concrete cover over the spring overflow as it appears today. A small overflow runs from the S side of the well to the stream 2m to the S (SMR File).
