The National Monuments Service's description
The Co. Kerry Field Club (1946) noted 'a group of blackened stones' at a place called Cloghadhu/Na Clocha Dubha on the W side of the Magharees Peninsula. It is possible that these marked a hearth site or fulacht fiadh, but they are now probably buried by sand and could not be located on this occasion.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 1572. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
