The National Monuments Service's description

KE020-057---- is marked as a circular enclosure on the 1842 and 1897 OS maps. Though levelled, it can be picked up on the Air Corps aerial photographs (1949), and it could still be seen from the air in 1991.

Certain discolouration can be seen in the centre of this site which would suggest either house-sites or souterrains. There is a tradition of souterrains (KE020-057001-) in this vicinity, and these have been recorded by the Kerry Field Club (1948, 323).

The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 706. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
