Marked as a circular enclosure on the 1842 OS map, on the later edition of 1897 the NE to E sector has been completely levelled. It is c .8m wide and rises to 4m above the interior and 5m-6.2m above the fosse. The U-shaped and well-defined external fosse, is 2.6m-3.6m wide and c 1.2m deep.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 689. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
