The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diameter 26.4m N-S, 25.4m E-W
This circular univallate rath is much levelled. On the 1897 OS map a fieldbank runs down the W side. This has since disappeared and a fieldbank now runs in a N-S direction down the E side. The enclosing earthen bank is 6m wide and rises to a maximum of 1m above the interior and 1m above the external ground level. A complete rotary quern and the top of a second one were located in the same field.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 695. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
