The National Monuments Service's description

Internal diameter 40.2m N-S, 41.2m E-W
This univallate rath consists of a circular area enclosed by a well-defined earthen bank and exterior fosse. The enclosing bank is 5m wide and rises to 1.4m internally and 2m externally. The external fosse, c 2m wide and 1 m deep, is evident for most of the site, except to the S to SE where a fieldbank cuts through it. A 2.6m wide entrance to the NE provides access to the interior. The interior is at a slightly higher level than the surrounding land, and in the NW sector is a sub-rectangular raised area, 12.6m x 9.3m internally.

The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 694. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
