The National Monuments Service's description
A souterrain was discovered in the above townland in 1987, when Mary Cahill (NMI) examined it and did a rescue excavation. She found that the souterrain chamber was sub-rectangular in plan and in good condition, and measured 2.75m x 1.75m x 1.32m. A fragment of a quern stone had been used to form the lintel over the passage entrance. A fully extended young female skeleton which was laid lengthways on the floor of the souterrain was orientated E-W, the head lying to the W. (Excavations, 1988)
